CLOUSTON Associates New Arrival

ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES AT GATE 6A - 17/2/2010

Keen as always to reflect trends in the wider community, CLOUSTON has experienced its own mini baby boom in recent years, with the latest addition being Jimmy Flinders Kinch, born to Associate Director Justine Williams and her husband Niall Kinch on January 10th 2010. Just one month old, he has already visited the office to check out Mum’s in-tray, and we hear that, true to family form, JFK is joining her on long beach walks, enjoying a drink, and sleeping like a baby!

But as Justine goes off on Maternity Leave for a little while, Associate Director Martin O’Dea returns from a sabbatical break also spent focusing on his children as they both gear up for serious school this year. Martin resumes in the role of Quality Assurance + Design Standards Manager across the practice at an opportune time - maintaining design and technical excellence is a central value of CLOUSTON, and particularly in this period of growth in staff and project activity.

In other moves, we are sadly saying ‘adieu’ to both Tom Charrier who heads back to the UK this month and Christine Haylock, our resident champion kayaker, who is returning to Canada to complete her Graduate qualifications in March.

But with every ‘goodbye’ there comes a ‘hello’, and we’re pleased to be swelling our ranks in February with two highly experienced Senior Landscape Architects, Matthew Higginson and John Minnikin, as well as a couple of talented Graduate Landscape Architects, Alice Anonuevo and Hamish Putt who are joining us in the Sydney office.

In Darwin, we welcome back CLOUSTON regular, Bridget White, after a stint in the UK but say ‘farewell’ to Steve Mintern as he embarks on his formal Landscape Architecture training with a CLOUSTON apprenticeship under his belt. Also, if the name Ben Cox sounds familiar, it may be that you’ve heard it from his dad, Director Tony Cox. Ben is joining us as an intern for a year before he takes up a university place at UNSW in Sydney

Each of our new team members has impressive credentials across design, project management, CAD drafting and sustainable development, and all have been chosen to complement the existing staff mix of skills and client focused Portfolio services.

We will introduce them in more detail later, but 2010 is shaping up to be a dynamic year, so watch this space……………………………………
