LANDCOM GUIDELINES LEAD THE WAY - 16/10/2008
In July 2008, Landcom launched a boxed set of seven guideline documents that cover various aspects of design and project delivery. One of these is the Open Space Guidelines developed in partnership with CLOUSTON Associates over a period of two years.
As the principal author of the Open Space Guidelines, CLOUSTON worked closely with the Landcom team, assisting in convening and liaising with the Project Steering Committee of expert peer reviewers, submitting researched material, developing the document structure, writing all text, reviewing and integrating comments and feedback from the Committee, assisting Landcom in the selection of images and working with Landcom’s graphics department.
In August 2008, the complete Boxed Set of Guidelines received a Commendation at the 2008 Australia Awards for Urban Design, a national award given jointly by the Planning Institute of Australia, the Australian Institute of Architects, the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and the Urban Design Forum.
In addition, CLOUSTON is a finalist in the Parks & Leisure Australia State Awards with the Open Space Guidelines, which are now in the running for a National Award for Planning.
